A design manager leads the creative efforts for an organization, which are informed by the business objectives. According to the Design Management Institute (DMI)—
“Design management encompasses the ongoing processes, business decisions, and strategies
that enable innovation and create effectively-designed products, services, communications,
environments, and brands that enhance our quality of life and provide organizational success.”
It is not only possible, but essential, to combine the creative process with business objectives to produce an aesthetically pleasing, functional and innovative end product,
that is appealing to the target market. I have used these skills to benefit many types of projects.
